From Sarah Treem (TV’s The Affair, House of Cards, In Treatment), A Feminine Ending is a gentle, bittersweet comedy about a girl who knows what she wants, but not quite how to get it. Having recently graduated from a major conservatory, and with a rocker boyfriend on the brink of stardom, aspiring composer Amanda Blue’s “extraordinary life” seems to be all mapped out. But when she runs home to answer her mother’s distress call, Amanda’s grand plan starts to unravel. There’s a lot of noise in her head but none of it is music. Until the end.

“A Feminine Ending” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com

Wednesday, January 19 @ 7:30
Saturday, January 21 @ 3:00

DIRECTOR: Maybe Stewart

What does it mean to truly find yourself? What would it look like to let yourself just be? These are the central questions that Maybe Stewart and their ensemble of actors will seek to answer with you through an evening of poetry, movement, theatre, and conversation. In this brave space, you are invited to courageously sit with your discomfort, and dig deeper into what being human means to you. Using the playwright’s personal narrative as a jumping-off point, this interactive piece discusses gender, trauma, and identity in a unique, vulnerable, and piercingly honest format.

The Bridge Initiative began working with Stewart on just be in 2019, presented a reading of the first draft in spring 2020, and will present these three workshop performances in January 2022 at Tempe Center for the Arts.
